We realised that Mortimer hadn't been to the sea since we moved here so we thought it was time he became reacquainted. So we loaded him into the car (much to his disgust as it was near his supper time) and headed to the beach. As soon as we opened the door he leapt out, tail thrashing from side to side - so excited.
As it was high season some of the beach was out of bounds although Mortimer was desperate to get onto it, trying to scale the seawalls. Eventually he was there, Co-Owner unclipped the lead and he was off, like a bullet from a gun, straight into the sea. He then stood there, tail wagging, looking so pleased with himself.
Eventually we dragged him away. Fortunately there were many distractions as everyone seemed to be wandering around eating fish & chips or burgers and if that wasn't enough lots of children palying with balls and frisbees. Needless to say he was exhausted on the way home and lay in the back snoring.
